I used a reference photo from 10 years earlier to paint Emma and Derick , arms wrapped around each other on a rock at the ocean’s edge. Brother and sisterly love.

This driftwood root ball sits alone on Cordova Bay Beach as if posing for me. I was attracted to the light hitting the various shapes and the angles heading in every direction.

More rock gatherings down at Cordova Bay Beach. I love the way they gather in these little groupings in the rocks along the beach.

You can almost feel the freshness in the air near these rapids. West Coast rivers are usually very active, surrounded by our wonderful foliage in these secret spots.

I am very inspired by the rocky beaches of Cordova Bay…maybe even obsessed!

There are all kinds of grassy knolls along the coast of Vancouver Island…big skies and beautiful scenery.

The ocean waves gather up all the small pebbles and deposit them in the crevices of the rock outcroppings along Cordova Bay. This is part of a series of rock paintings I am working on.

On a hot summer day, a swim in the deep, cool river waters refreshes the body and mind.

24” x 30” oil - The beaches of Cordova Bay have many rocky areas that remain filled with water as the tide goes out. They often have starfish and other treasures hidden below the surface that delight my grandson.

The open water along Vancouver Island is always moving, like rhythmic breathing.

The warm glow of the summer sun on the trees was amazing that day after a sumptuous anniversary lunch.

The beach in Parksville on Vancouver Island seem to go on endlessly at low tide.

Ripe and ready to eat, the voluptuous shapes just make you want to take a bite.

The small markets along the Caribbean beach are so colourful and inviting.
